ADAM EATON
Launches his debut EP - ‘You and I and Us’ @ The Toff In Town, March 4
Plus shows @ Fuse Festival in Adelaide, Sydney and beyond…
Hailing from Melbourne, Adam Eaton is a singer/songwriter troubadour most recently based in Norway, but is back in Australia with an armful of beautiful songs just bursting for release. His debut EP “You and I and Us” will be released on March 2, 2012. Adam and his Norwegian band will be playing shows through Feb and March, with the very special EP launch at The Toff In Town, Sunday March 4th with support from Emily Ulman.
Arriving in Norway in 2010, Adam fell in the love with the country and the people so decided a change of scenery and fresh start was in order. He soon settled in to start work on his solo project with the help of some beautiful Norwegian musicians that gravitated to his atmospheric, country/folk infused songs and tender vocal style.
In July 2011 Adam and his Norwegian band mates piled into a van for a road trip to a little island off the west coast of Norway to record his Debut EP in over just three days. Produced by Adam himself and with the engineering of talented Eivind Magnus Solberg, Adam and his band recorded live in the stunning surrounds, the recordings have now best been described as blending alternative country with modern folk and pop.
Once the EP was recorded, Eaton decided to send the tracks back to Melbourne to be mixed by trusted friend Roger Bergodaz (talented drummer for Tex Perkins and The Dark Horses, and studio engineer for Sime Nugent, Jordie Lane and Tracey McNeil). Mastering was also taken care of in Melbourne by Adam Dempsey at Deluxe Mastering (CW Stoneking, Jordie Lane) and finally the EP titled “You and I and Us” will be released in March with the first single off the EP “All Mine” already getting radio play on Triple J Unearthed and community stations around the country.
The last few months in Norway has been a busy time for Adam and his band with tours in both Oslo and Copenhagen, quickly generating a fan base across Scandinavia.
Now, Adam Eaton is back in Australia joined by members of his Norwegian band, plus local legendary lap steel player, Garreth Costigan for the launch of his debut solo EP “You and I and Us” in Melbourne @ The Toff in Town on Sunday, March 4th, plus the following shows in Adelaide and Sydney with more shows to be announced.
