Reeling 2010: The 29th Chicago Lesbian & Gay
International Film Festival
Festival Dates: November 4 -13, 2010

Reeling 2010: The 29th Chicago Lesbian & Gay International Film Festival is now accepting film and video entries for this year's festival. Reeling is the second oldest gay and lesbian film festival in the world and prides itself on showcasing the best LGBTQI films and videos from around the globe. Reeling 2010 will screen over 100 independent films and videos over 10 days, from November 4-13, 2010. Entries are eligible for audience awards, as well as juried awards with cash prizes in the categories of Best Feature Film, Best Documentary Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, and Best Experimental or Animated Film.
The Great Gay Screenplay Contest
The Great Gay Screenplay Contest is underway, with final entries due by 11:59 p.m. July 31. Fifteen semifinalists will be chosen and then read by a committee that includes Bruce Vilanch, Billy Cogar, Lawrence Bommer, Richard Knight, Jr, Billy Masters, and stage and film professionals from around the country.
Five finalists will be named by September 15, 2010, and all five of those scripts will be performed as staged readings during Reeling: The Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival, sponsored by Chicago Filmmakers.
There will be one 'Juried Winner,' and one 'People's Choice Winner'. The prize for the juried winner is $1,000, and each of the other four finalists will receive $400.
This is an open contest for all persons 18 years or older as of the date of entry. The same person may submit multiple entries as long as a separate application and fee accompany each screenplay entry.
Entry fee is $30 if entry is received by or postmarked no later than May 15, $45 if entry is received by or postmarked no later than July 1, or $60 if entry is received by or postmarked no later than July 31, 2010. To make the final deadline scripts must by postmarked no later than July 31 or filed electronically by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on July 31, 2010.
