Newton Faulkner - Hand Built By Robots (Tour edition)
August 14th 2008 23:27
English singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner burst onto the music scene after the release of his number one debut album Hand Built By Robots in July 2007.
The guitarist started his career playing the bass guitar in a Green Day cover band before record label Sony BMG gave him his big break with a recording deal in 2006. He has toured extensively supporting the likes of James Morrison, John Mayer, Paolo Nutini and The John Butler Trio on a number of UK and European-based tours.
On July 30, 2007, the Surrey-based musician released his debut album Hand Built By Robots to critical acclaim. The album was a huge commercial success, entering the charts at number three before making a push to the top of the charts less than a month later.
The album's third single, "Dream Catch Me", has been a mega-hit for Faulkner, garnering rave reviews and massive airplay in the UK and Australia, where it reached a peak of number 5 on the ARIA charts.
Coinciding with his debut tour of Australia in September, a special "tour edition" of the platinum-selling Hand Built By Robots album has been released. This special CD/DVD showcases one of Newton’s best shows to date - filmed in March 2008 - from the fantastic Roundhouse in London.
