Matchbox Twenty have been one of the hottest rock bands in the world since forming in 1996 by Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette and Adam Gaynor (later left the band in 2005).
Fronted by principal songwriter and lead singer Rob Thomas who has also found fame as a solo artist (his collaboration with legendary guitarist Carlos Santana spawned the massive worldwide hit "Smooth"), the band have released a total of four studio albums - Yourself or Someone Like You, Mad Season, More Than You Think You Are and more recently, Exile on Mainstream.
Their best known songs are: "Push", "3 A.M.", "Real World", "If You're Gone", "Disease", "Unwell", and "Bright Lights".
Exile on Mainstream is Matchbox Twenty's first album after their mini hiatus since 2005 and features six brand new songs on disc 1 while disc 2 features eleven of their greatest hits. The album has spawned three hit singles since its release in October 2007 with the first single, "How Far We've Come" enjoying top 10 success in Australia.
Matchbox Twenty is currently on the eve of bringing their 'Out of Exile' world tour in support of Exile on Mainstream to Australian shores in April. The band will play at 8 venues Australia-wide with shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Hunter Valley, Brisbane, Canberra and Wollongong.
