The Sydney Fringe, Christina Van Look, Kristin Boesenberg and Krystal Meth present
FUN DIRECTION - finding the funny when life is a drag
Three of Sydney’s most experienced emerging comics, Christina Van Look, Kristin Boesenberg and Krystal Meth are unleashing their exciting Sydney Fringe Festival show after 6 years in the making.
Opening this Friday night at the iconic Star Bar in George Street, ‘Fun Direction’ offers the audience a fast-paced, light-hearted variety show and even features Sydney’s most baffling and hilarious drag queen, Krystal Meth. Fun Direction is comedy fun, done 3 ways.
Christina Van Look is a highlight at many of the local comedy venues and Kristin “The Boes” Boesenberg has MC’d over 100 comedy nights in and around Sydney. Krystal Meth just “gets around”. With such experience the crowd is sure to be in good hands.
Christina Van Look has become a favourite of the Sydney comedy circuit as she draws you into her world of Bogan survivor guilt and unenthusiastic parenting. Deceptively sweet and cheerful, she targets what everyone else is thinking (or was just about to). Mikey Robbins describes her as “One of the funniest women in comedy!”.
Her acerbic wit contrasts well with Kristin Boesenberg’s more energetic comedy, which includes a riotous ‘race call’ and a very different reading of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. Krystal Meth completes the trio as Sydney’s favourite stand up Drag Queen. Krystal however admits, “It’s tough being a T-Girl, getting up in the morning to brush your hair...and brush your legs”.
‘Fun Direction’ is an excellent value show with no boring bits. It is a refreshing offering for a work-weary Friday night crowd looking for a good old-fashioned laugh. You are in safe hand with Fun Direction.
