Damon Albarn's New Band

Blur and Gorrilaz mastermind Damon Albarn is unleashing yet another side-project into the public domain to go alongside his half-asleep world music ventures and the whole Democrazy debacle. But this one has Paul Simonon from the Clash, Fela Kuti's drummer Tony Allen and Simon Tong from, err, the Verve. So it might be alright.
The project, going under the rubbish name of The Good The Bad And The Queen, are recording an album under the Midas-like production of Dangermouse. The group plans to release a single in October, but there's nothing on the net that gives any clues as to what it might sound like. PM guesses it'll be smug and dubby.
Also, more alarmingly, the group are due to appear at the BBC's utterly pointless Electric Proms at the newly refurbished Camden Roundhouse. But the Electric Proms are a whole different issue...
